The vision

To create the backbone of an ecological network, running from the Barents to the Black Sea that is a global symbol for transboundary cooperation in nature conservation and sustainable development.
The borders of all countries displayed within this project are taken from ESRI sources (Environmental Systems Research Institute), and not based on precise shapefiles from the partner organizations. As a consequence the displayed state borders may differ from the exact recognized course of the state borders and all maps shown in the frame of the project should not be used in a scale larger than 1:500.000. (i.e. The inacuracy of the provided border of the Republic of Croatia has been indicated by the Croatian partner.)
