European Green Belt Youth Work Camps

Learn more about the implementation of European Green Belt Youth Camps and its opportunities

“European Green Belt Youth Work Camps” are a great opportunity to get the young generation engaged in conservation and restoration practice and to raise awareness on the cultural-historical dimensions of the European Green Belt. Youth camps are also an excellent opportunity to bring together young people from different countries and to stimulate cross-border exchange. For organisations who plan to organise an “European Green Belt Youth Work Camp” the 3rd Call of BESTbelt offers a potential opportunity to fund such an initiative. In January and February 2024 two complementary trainings are offered by the BESTbelt project.

Online Training from 16th until 17th January 2024

An online-training over two half days aimed at increasing knowledge about youth work camps in conservation and the particular opportunities “European Green Belt Youth Work Camps” provide. Best Practices from all over the European Green Belt will be presented. Participants had the chance to exchange experiences with organisations regularly implementing youth work camps.

Intensive training on 6th and 7th February 2024 (ONLINE)

As follow-up to the first online training we offered an intensive training over two half days for all organisations interested in implementing “European Green Belt Youth Work Camps”. Necessary tools and knowledge for setting up a European Green Belt Youth Work Camp were given. What is a “European Green Belt Work Camp” and what can it offer? What are suitable conservation tasks? Which are the administrational issues that have to be considered? What is necessary to create a positive group atmosphere? These were some of the questions that we targeted during the training.

Participants also had the chance to exchange experiences and connect with other organisations for a possible cooperation and to set up their own project idea.
