Connecting Habitats Across Borders – Online Conference of the ReCo Project on Biodiversity & Restoration 2025

Join scientists and practitioners on 5 December 2025 to explore how ecological restoration strengthens biodiversity and connectivity along the European Green Belt, supporting species migration, resilient habitats and cross-border cooperation.

On 5 December 2025, experts from across Europe will gather online for the Scientific Conference on Enhancing Biodiversity & Interconnectivity by Ecological Restoration. The event is organized within the ReCo project, which focuses on restoring degraded ecosystems and improving ecological connectivity along the European Green Belt. By combining scientific knowledge with practical restoration approaches, the conference aims to strengthen the continuity of Natura 2000 habitats and support species movement across this unique transboundary corridor.

The programme highlights innovative methods for habitat restoration, strategies that enhance landscape permeability, and approaches that help ecosystems adapt to climate change. Speakers will share insights from research and field practice, demonstrating how restoration activities along the Green Belt contribute to healthier, more resilient landscapes and improved ecosystem services.

By bringing together researchers, conservationists and policymakers, the conference fosters international cooperation – essential for safeguarding biodiversity in a region where natural processes extend beyond political borders.

With the event taking place this Friday, interested participants can still complete a late registration to join the conference and take part in the discussions.

The event is part of the ReCo project – Restoring Degraded Ecosystems along the Green Belt, co-financed by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme.
