This year's 4th European Trails and Paths Conference, organised by the European Mountaineering Association and the European Hiking Federation, in close cooperation with the Club Alpino Italiano, brought together key stakeholders from across Europe — including institutions, trail experts, and outdoor professionals — to explore innovative strategies for managing and preserving hiking paths and trail networks.

The European Green Belt Hiking Trail project was presented in the margins of the conference, bringing in an example for a long-distance hiking trail project across Europe with a specific thematic focus on the European Green Belt.

Just shortly before, the project was also presented during the 56th meeting of the European Hiking Federation.

The vision of the European Green Belt Hiking Trail project is to create a trail along Europe's longest green network, through which people can explore the unique history, culture and natural wonders of the European Green Belt and contribute to its protection and sustainable development.
