European Green Belt Scientific Committee established for the first time

In January 2026, the Board of the European Green Belt Association established a European Green Belt Scientific Committee. The Committee will safeguard research integrity, support networking and joint research across the European Green Belt, and provide independent scientific advice for initiatives along Europe's longest green network.

 

The first appointed members of the European Green Belt Scientific Committee are: 
• Jakub Skorupski, Green Federation “GAIA” (Poland) 
• Francesca Visintin, Rete Italiana European Green Belt (Italy)
• Melanie Kreutz, BUND, Friends of the Earth Germany (Germany)
• Liana Geidezis, BUND, Friends of the Earth Germany (Germany)

  

The Scientific Committee is inclusive by design. All members of the European Green Belt Association, supporters and affiliates of the European Green Belt Initiative who carry out scientific work related to the European Green Belt are warmly invited to join the Committee!
