Raise your voice! Hands off nature. And the European Green Belt!

Nature needs laws that protect it. European laws such as the EU’s Birds and Habitats Directives are the ground for the protection of the unique nature and beautiful landscapes all along the European Green Belt. Let’s raise our voices for it.

For more than three decades, the Birds and Habitats Directives have been a success story, providing a coherent transnational and cross-border legal framework for the protection of thousands of species and their habitats. It’s our strongest defence against nature destruction and the ground for the largest network of protected areas in the world, the European Natura 2000 network.

These laws protect not only wildlife, but also the clean air we breathe, the water we drink, and the stability of our climate.

Now, these laws are under attack. Some countries and powerful destructive industry sectors and their political allies want to weaken these vital protections, putting nature at even greater risk at a time when it needs stronger support.

This is also a direct threat for the European Green Belt, which is the green backbone of Europe, by connecting habitats over a length of 12,500 km from the North to the South of Europe.

It is time to act now!

Already 600.000 people have signed the campaign “Hands off nature”.

Please add your signature and spread this appeal. We need a high number of signatures from all EU countries to make decision makers in our capitals and in Brussels understand: We want and need a healthy nature.

Sign online now to protect our nature, our wildlife, and our future. Give nature a voice!
