Exploring Jablanica-Shebenik

Planned activities: 

The celebration will provide participants with an opportunity to discover the biodiversity of the Jablanica-Shebenik region, learn how it is monitored, and explore how citizens themselves can contribute to its protection.

The event will have an informal, participatory and outdoor-oriented character. Instead of focusing primarily on formal presentations, participants will learn through a combination of short introductory sessions, practical demonstrations and a guided hike through the Jablanica landscape. A central theme of the event will be citizen science and the role that the public can play in biodiversity monitoring. Participants will learn about the importance of collecting reliable biodiversity observations and how such information can contribute to a better understanding of species and habitats and, ultimately, to more effective protected area management.
