To mark Europe Day for Peace and Unity in the European Union on May 9, the Austrian League for Nature Conservation is presenting selected hiking routes that allow you to experience the European Green Belt - from the Bohemian Forest to the Karawanken - at a slower pace on foot.

Spanning six countries and 3,340 km, the Balkan Green Belt Trail is now mapped and ready for hikers. This ambitious project connects nature, history, and culture along the European Green Belt in the Balkan region.
